It’s true: I was @MayorEmanuel
As I write this, The Atlantic has just released a story revealing that I was in fact @MayorEmanuel, the profane parody Twitter account that shadowed the Real Rahm Emanuel’s campaign for Mayor of Chicago before descending into a Time Vortex the night after the election. Questions about the identity of the up-until-now anonymous author have been raging in the media for months. Staying hidden is really exhausting.
So, hi!
If you’re thinking about writing a story or blogging about this, my good friend Daniel X. O’Neil took a couple photos of me this morning and has Creative Commons Licensed them on Flickr. Friends are awesome.
If you want to chat, you can find me on Twitter @dansinker.
Thanks to the many thousands of you that made this so much fucking fun.
INSTAFOLLOW. If you never followed @MayorEmmanuel while he was rampantly curse-tweeting (because apparently the past tense “was” is necessary and I’ll never stop internally crying about it), you missed out. Kudos to you, Dan Sinker! Looking forward to whatever further cracked brilliance you have up your sleeve.
He teaches at my school and I know a bunch of people who have had him for various courses. COLUMBIA PRIDE~
